Freedom Across Australia commenced in 1988 to provide an avenue for adults with disability to enhance their quality of life by long distance touring.

In 2004 it became an activity of the Auburn Lidcombe Lions Club.
Since the closure of the Auburn Lidcombe Lions Club in 2019, it was taken on by Charlton FAA Cyber Lions Club Branch

Volunteers who have an understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and have a rapport with adults with disability are always welcomed to assist the current team.

What makes a good volunteer? A sense of humour and readiness to accept the other person together with a willingness to become involved in as many aspects of a tour as is possible within their own capability.
